Kids in the Garden: Children’s Class for Gardening and the Environment


Kids in the Garden Class 2016

August 13 – Water Is Wonderful – Bubbles, ice, melting, rainbows, painting, mud, boats, floating, water play, planting, conservation – Lots of wet fun!


September 10 - Cooking – corn and cornbread


October 8 - Fall Fun Festival – our NINTH FREE event – scarecrows, pumpkins, apples, harvest


November 5 - Cotton with Karen Bochinski –

We grow it, she spins it!  Spinning, weaving, braiding


December 10 - Music makers, instruments,

Kids in the Garden Class features hands-on activities using water including bubbles, ice, painting, and mud. The class session will also include conservation lessons.  Class fee is $5 per child, which supports the garden. Accompanying adults pay garden entry fee of $5 per person.  Registration includes visit to the 14-acre Gardens.  Pre-registration required at  or call (760) 822-6824.  Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is at 1270 Vale Terrace Drive.
